Description
The Ken-A-Vision T-19241C Comparison Scope 2 has two side-by-side compound microscopes, each with a reverse four-hole nosepiece with 2x, 4x, 10x, and 40xS DIN achromatic lens objectives that are connected by a bridge with a Seidentopf binocular head with a 30-degree incline and variable-width eyepieces, for side-by-side comparison of forensic samples, including shell casings, and hair and tissue samples. Samples can be viewed full field (individually) or side-by-side on a split screen at up to 400x magnification. Each microscope has separate upper and lower cool LED lighting that provide both incidental (upper) and transmitted (lower) light and separate on/off switches. Lower-level lighting has a dimmer control. Independent coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs provide sharp focus for viewing specimens. The DIN achromatic lens objectives have a humidity and climate control coating to protect lenses in harsh environments. The floating stage is mounted on a rack-and-pinion gearing system and has two spring-loaded clips to hold samples in place. The microscope bases have built-in, retractable handles for safe transport, NiMH rechargeable batteries for use away from power sources, and a single-cast aluminum body with a polymer coated base for strength and durability during daily use. The microscope includes two power supplies, a cover, and instructions.
